Valentine’s Day Cookie Decorating

For me, holidays like Valentine’s Day are the most fun to prepare for because they give me an excuse to make corny, heart-filled crafts and bake delicious treats. I also love that the prevailing color scheme of the occasion includes all shades of reds and pinks. With this in mind, I made heart-shaped cookies and went all out with the thematic decorations.

This is a tried-and-true recipe from the classic “Joy of Cooking” cookbook, and the recipe is called “Rich Roll Cookies.” For fun, I added red food coloring to half the dough and mixed it with the un-dyed dough to create a semi-marbled effect. For the frosting I used the 4-ingredient recipe on the back of the box of confectioners sugar!

EMBROIDERED COCKTAIL NAPKINS AND DECORATIVE DINNER NAPKINS

The embroidered cocktail napkins and dinner napkins with ribbon trim below are two more V-Day-themed craft projects, both of which can be adapted to suit everyday use or another themed special occasion. I will be sharing more on both of these projects in my next post!
